When do I have to pay my tuition?

Seating status will not be granted until the June installment (aka the non-refundable seating fee DUE on June 1, 2018) has been received by the school. If the seating fee has not been received by June 1, you run the risk of being put on a waiting list.

• Prepaid Tuition—patrons wishing to prepay their tuition in full should submit payment by June 5 to lock in their seating status.
• Monthly Installments—patrons wishing to make monthly installment payments will pay twelve equal installments from June 2017 through May 2018, each installment due by the 5^th of each month.
• Late Enrollment—students enrolling after the month of June will have an alternate payment schedule that spreads over the months from the time of enrollment to the end of the school year. If the late enrollment occurs after the start of the school year, tuition amounts will also be adjusted so that tuition paid is commensurate with the number of days attended.

How do I pay my tuition?

The school accepts six different payment formats for tuition. Depending on the format elected by the patron, different tuition rates are charged (cost savings are passed on to patrons who choose payment methods that utilize more efficient processing.).
* Standard rate payment options:

• Check
• eCheck
• Credit/debit card (this option incurs an additional 3% convenience fee)

** Reduced rate payment options:

• ACH
• Bill Pay
• Payroll withholding (available to patrons who are also school employees)
• Full prepayment (via any of the six accepted payment formats except credit/debit card)

What must one do to qualify for the reduced rates (as opposed to paying the higher, standard rates)?

Reduced rates are available to those who opt for a payment format that realizes cost savings through more efficient processing. Patrons desiring the reduced rates must prepay all of their tuition or opt for one of the installment-payment methods that allows for automation (ACH, Bill Pay, or payroll withholds for patrons who are also employees).

So, if I have chosen to pursue the reduced rate, what do I do next?

It depends upon which payment format you want to pursue.

• ACH—A majority of school patrons are set up to do an automatic debit from their checking account on the 5^th of each month. To enroll in this process, please complete the Automatic Withdrawal Agreement, and then email a scanned copy of the completed form to [email protected] (or deliver the completed form to room 346 during normal school hours).
• Bill Pay—After programming a monthly bill-pay arrangement with your bank, please complete the Automatic Bill Pay Agreement form, and then email a scanned copy of the completed form to [email protected] (or deliver the completed form to room 346 during normal school hours).
• Payroll withholding—patrons who are also employees of the school can visit the payroll office in room 346 to make arrangements.
• Prepayment—Pay the school year’s entire tuition obligation (via any format other than credit/debit card) by June 5.

I don’t want to pursue any of the payment methods that qualify for the reduced rates, and I understand I will pay the non-discounted, standard tuition rates as a result. What payment methods are still available to me, and how do I submit payment?

• Check—Patrons may deliver a check to room (due by the 5^th of each month).
• eCheck—Patrons may initiate an electronic transfer from their checking or savings account by using the school’s remote tuition payment portal.
• Credit/debit card—Patrons may pay tuition via the school’s remote tuition payment portal using any of the four major merchant cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX). A 3% merchant-card processing fee will be assessed (this fee can be avoided by choosing an alternate payment method).

What is the process for International Students?

• Seating status will not be granted until the June installment (aka the non-refundable seating fee DUE on June 1, 2018) has been received by the school. If the seating fee has not been received by June 1, you run the risk of being put on a waiting list.
• The remainder of the tuition obligation (total tuition minus the previously-paid seating fee) is due no later than August 1. In cases of late enrollment, all tuition must be prepaid in full BEFORE the student can be admitted to class.
• If choosing to wire funds, please contact the Admissions Office for instructions.

Is there any application fee?

A non-refundable application fee is required to be paid with all applications. Application fees include initial assessment fees (see “Evaluation & Expectations” for more details):

• Kindergarten Student: $50
• 1st - 12th Grade Student: $75
• International Student: $110

What is the seating fee?

Applicants who are ultimately enrolled will be assessed a seating fee equal to one month’s (one-twelfth of annual) tuition.This fee reserves the applicant’s grade-specific spot(s) for the coming year. The seating fee is fully applied to the student’s tuition obligation (i.e. the seating fee is not in addition to, but rather satisfies, the first month’s tuition payment).

Are there any other fees of which I need to be aware of?

Tuition covers the virtually all of the basic, curricular experience your child has at American Heritage School. The school makes available various extra-curricular activities that your child may elect to pursue. Extra-curricular offerings include after-school athletics and music programs. Extra-curricular programs often do have a participation fee associated with them that is designed to cover the costs of offering the program.
